The Detroit Pistons defeated the Orlando Magic, 89-78, in the NBA 2K24 Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center on Saturday.

While there were eight ties and five lead changes through the opening 30 minutes, Detroit rode a 21-13 third quarter to victory. The Pistons out-rebounded the Magic, 59-35, while also out-blocking them, 7-2. Detroit shot 42 percent from the field while holding Orlando to 40 percent shooting. The Pistons also outscored the Magic in fastbreak points, 22-16.

Kevon Harris led the Magic (0-1), collecting 21 points, six rebounds and two steals. Anthony Black accrued 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Caleb Houstan had 12 points and two boards, while Jett Howard finished with eight points, three rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The Pistons (1-0) were led by Jalen Duren, who tallied 17 points and eight rebounds. James Wiseman compiled 16 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. Jaden Ivey provided 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals

On deck for Detroit is a matchup with the Houston Rockets on Sunday. The Magic play the Indiana Pacers on Monday for their next outing.
