A pair of impressive performances from second-year forwards Kenneth Lofton and Jake LaRavia helped lead the Memphis Grizzlies to an 87-80 victory over the Chicago Bulls in the Las Vegas NBA 2K24 Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Saturday.

The Grizzlies set a solid foundation, emerging from the first quarter with a 28-21 lead, but the Bulls bounced back to limit Memphis to 33 points over the middle periods to send the game into the final period knotted up at 61-61. However, the Grizzlies turned the tables in the fourth quarter by holding Chicago to 19 points to pull out the hard-fought seven-point triumph.

Lofton led the way for the Grizzlies with 23 points, adding four rebounds, three blocks and two steals. LaRavia followed with 15 points, which he complemented with four boards, three assists, three blocks and one steal. Jacob Gilyard furnished 11 points, eight assists, three rebounds and one steal. Second-round pick Gregory Jackson turned in nine points, two rebounds, one assist and one block.

G League standout Javon Freeman-Liberty paced the Bulls with 24 points, supplementing them with six rebounds and five assists. Dalen Terry, last year’s 18th overall pick, delivered 17 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Nate Darling registered 10 points, four assists, three boards and one steal. Adama Sango posted eight points, 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.

The Grizzlies will attempt to remain hot Monday against the Cavaliers, while the Bulls will square off against the Kings on Tuesday.
