Day 10 of NBA 2K24 Summer League was a treat as it featured several high scoring performances and an overtime game-winner. Detroit Pistons rookie Marcus Sasser found his groove with a 40-point performance, D.J. Steward put on a show with his 36-point game for the Philadelphia 76ers, and Oklahoma City’s Jared Butler had 31 points in a close loss. Isaiah Mobley scored a clutch turnaround jumper to punch the Cleveland Cavaliers’ ticket to the Summer League title game, where they will face off against rookie Cam Whitmore and the Houston Rockets (9 ET, ESPN).
Marcus Sasser, Detroit Pistons

The Pistons defeated the Pacers, 100-85, largely on the strength of Sasser’s efforts. He put on a scoring clinic for the Pistons with a 40-point outing — a season-high for the Vegas run — while making 16 of his 25 shots (65%) and shooting 5-for-9 (56%) from the arc.

The rookie first-round selection was picked by the Memphis Grizzlies on Draft night, and acquired via trade by Detroit. The 22-year-old put his offensive arsenal on display, and could prove to be an asset tp coach Monty Williams’ rotation in his first season with the Pistons.
Nate Hinton & Cam Whitmore, Houston Rockets

The undefeated Houston Rockets (5-0) kept their excellent form as Nate Hinton and Cam Whitmore led the way in a decisive, 115-101 victory against the Utah Jazz. Hinton dropped 27 points while grabbing five rebounds and dishing three assists.

Whitmore, the No. 20 overall pick, has continued his stellar play, this time generating 25 points, four rebounds and three assists. Both players showed effort on defense, too: Hinton tallied five steals and Whitmore logged two blocks and one steal to help send the Rockets to the Summer League title game.
Isaiah Mobley, Cleveland Cavaliers

Mobley was the Cavs’ best player Sunday, notching 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal in a 102-99 victory against the Brooklyn Nets. The big man came up clutch with a game-winning turnaround jumper in overtime to surpass the target score of 101, guaranteeing his team would reach the Summer League championship game.
He will enter his second season as teammates with his younger brother, Cavs star forward Evan Mobley. While the Cavaliers’ starting frontcourt is solidified with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, Isaiah Mobley enters his sophomore campaign aiming to log consistent bench minutes.
D.J. Steward, Philadelphia 76ers
DJ Steward drops a game-high 36 points against the Pelicans.
Steward finished with 36 points, six assists and five rebounds on 65% shooting overall (13-for-20) and 50% shooting (5-for-10) on 3-pointers while also going 5-for-6 from the line in a 117-114 win vs. the New Orleans Pelicans.
Known for his scoring mentality, the 6-foot-2 Steward has displayed some strong finishes at the rim for his size. After going undrafted in the 2021, his Summer League surge could have a few NBA teams looking his way.
Jared Butler, Oklahoma City Thunder
Jared Butler racks up a game-high (31 points) against the San Antonio Spurs.
A two-year NBA veteran, Butler dropped a game-high 31 points (and had four rebounds and three steals) in 29 minutes as the Thunder lost 98-94 to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. The 6-foot-3 guard was efficient, shooting 53% overall (10-for-19) and 5-for-9 on 3-pointers (56%).
Butler helped OKC rally from a 15-point hole to tie the game with under three minutes left. However, the Spurs went on a 7-0 run to close the game and the Thunder ended their time in Vegas at 2-3.
