NBA 2K24 Summer League: Rockets beat Jazz to face Cavaliers in championship game

Nate Hinton and Cam Whitmore pace the Rockets with 52 points combined to lead Houston to the Summer League final.

The Rockets are heading to the 2K24 Summer League championship game after defeating the Jazz on Sunday.

The Houston Rockets defeated the Utah Jazz, 115-101, in the NBA 2K24 Summer League Semifinals at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Sunday. 

There was only one lead change in this game, with Houston maintaining control for the final three quarters. A 30-18 second quarter set the foundation for their win, as the Rockets led by at least six points for the entirety of the second half.

The Rockets shot 38.8% (19-for-49) from three-point range and 95.7% (22-for-23) from the charity stripe, while holding the Jazz to 26.7% (12-for-45) from long distance. Houston also doubled Utah in steals, 8-4.

The undefeated Rockets (5-0) were led by Nate Hinton, who tallied 27 points, five rebounds, three assists and five steals. Cam Whitmore accumulated 25 points, four rebounds and three assists. Jermaine Samuels had 13 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while Trevor Hudgins accumulated 16 points, nine assists and five rebounds. Fletcher Magee led the bench with 21 points and five boards.

The Jazz (4-1) had three players score 20 points, with Micah Potter providing 20 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. Keyshawn Justice amassed 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists, while Colbey Ross totaled 20 points, six rebounds and six assists. Taevion Kinsey collected 14 points and five assists, while Nick Ongenda generated 12 points, 11 rebounds and two assists. 

With the win, Houston will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA 2K24 Summer League Championship on Monday.
