Below are the most notable NBA players born on Dec. 11.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim (1976): Abdur-Rahim was the third overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies and finished third in Rookie of the Year voting. The following season, Abdur-Rahim began a stretch of five straight seasons averaging at least 20 points per game. Abdur-Rahim also made his only All-Star appearance in 2001, his first season with the Atlanta Hawks. He closed his career with stints in Portland and Sacramento before retiring in 2008. Abdul-Rahim finished Top 20 in scoring five times, averaging 18.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists over his 12-year career.
Malcolm Brogdon (1992): Brogdon has been one of the most efficient players over the last decade. He was the 36th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. He won Rookie of the Year in a remarkable rookie campaign, averaging 10.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He joined the Indiana Pacers in 2019, averaging a career-high 21.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 0.9 steals in 2020. Brogdon was moved to a bench role when he joined the Boston Celtics in 2022 and won the Sixth Man of the Year award in his one season with the Celtics. Brogdon currently plays for the Washington Wizards.
