Desmond Bane returns to Grizzlies' lineup after 17-game absence

Bane was off to a great start before his toe injury, averaging 24.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists in the Grizzlies' first 12 games.

Desmond Bane had been sidelined with a sprained right toe since Nov. 11.

Christmas came early for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Ater missing the past 17 games with a sprained right big toe, Desmond Bane was cleared to return to the Grizzlies’ lineup just before Friday night’s matchup with the Phoenix Suns.

Bane’s return allowed the Grizzlies to use their preferred starting five for the first time this season, with Bane starting alongside point guard Ja Morant, small forward Dillon Brooks, power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. and center Steven Adams.

Bane played 24 minutes and finished with 17 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in the Grizzlies’ 124-100 victory.

Bane was averaging 24.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists in his first 12 games. Memphis is 10-3 when Bane plays this season.
