The Sacramento Kings are acquiring free agent veteran DeMar DeRozan via a three-year, $74 million sign-and-trade that includes moving Harrison Barnes to the San Antonio Spurs and Chris Duarte to the Chicago Bulls, according to multiple sources.

DeRozan, a six-time All-Star, averaged 24 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists for the Bulls last season. He also finished second to Stephen Curry in voting for the NBA’s Kia Clutch Player of the Year voting.
The Kings now add DeRozan to a core that includes one-time All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox, All-Star center Domantas Sabonis and promising young forward Keegan Murray.
DeRozan, a three-time All-NBA selection, was the ninth overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in 2009 and has played for the Raptors, Spurs and Bulls across his 15 seasons. He has averaged 21.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists through his 1110 career NBA games.
The Spurs are adding Barnes to join free agent arrival Chris Paul alongside unanimous Kia Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama. Barnes averaged 12.2 points and three rebounds for the Kings, shooting 47.4% overall and 38.7% from 3-point range.
Chicago, meanwhile, cuts ties with DeRozan and takes another step toward a youth movement after acquiring 21-year-old playmaker Josh Giddey from Oklahoma City earlier this offseason. Duarte was an All-Rookie honoree in 2021-22 with Indiana before being dealt to the Kings, where he struggled with injuries and playing time amid Sacramento’s resurgence.
