Player Bio

Aaron Addison Gordon was born in 1995 in San Jose, California. His father Eddy played collegiate basketball at San Diego State and later signed as an NFL free agent with the New England Patriots. Gordon's sister, Elise, played collegiate basketball at Harvard. The forward played his high school ball at Archbishop Mitty in San Jose and led them to consecutive state titles. Gordon was a two-time California Mr. Basketball selection. Gordon sponsors CodeOrlando, a STEM learning program, which provides a hands on look at how technology is designed, developed and implemented. CodeOrlando was created by Gordon and his family as a way to lift underserved students out of generational poverty. It also introduces the world of technology to under-represented African-American, Hispanic and female students. Gordon is also an active supporter of various Special Olympics events. In 2019, he was recognized for his efforts to improve the Central Florida community as the co-winner of the Rich and Helen DeVos Community Enrichment Award. Fans can follow Gordon on Twitter (@DoubleOAG) and Instagram (@aarongordon). Gordon was named the 2013-14 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year for Arizona. The San Jose, California native also made the 13-14 All-Pac-12 First Team. The forward was also named to the 2014 All-Pac-12 Tournament First Team. He helped lead Arizona to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, and one of his best performance came during that tourney loss against Wisconsin -- he pulled down 18 rebounds in the 64-63 loss to the Badgers. The forward led the Pac-12 in offensive rebounds with 102 and also led Arizona with 8.0 rebounds per game while checking in second in both points (12.4) and blocks (1.0) per contest. Gordon announced he would apply for the 2014 NBA Draft following his freshman year and was subsequently drafted in the first round (fourth overall) by the Orlando Magic.
