C's Win Preseason Thriller

Paul Pierce recorded 15 points and Gabe Pruitt banked home a game-winning shot with 6.6 seconds remaining to catapult the Celtics to a 90-89 triumph over the Rockets on Saturday in preseason action at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH.

Boston and Houston went back-and-forth throughout the contest, but some key defensive plays from the C's, including a decisive last-second block by Darius Miles, propelled the reigning champs to victory.

Glen Davis registered 12 points and Kevin Garnett, who played 21 minutes, and Leon Powe each had 10.

Kia Walking School Bus

The Boston Celtics teamed up with Kia Motors today to encourage Boston Public School students to increase their exercise by walking to school. Celtics players Tony Allen and Brian Scalabrine led a group of students in East Boston to the James Otis Elementary School in the form of a walking school bus. After arriving at the school, a special assembly was held for all students at which the Celtics players spoke to the students about the importance of being physically active to maintain a healthy mind and body.
