Player Bio

Romeo James Langford was born in New Albany, Indiana, in 1999. Langford is the son of Tim and Sabrina Langford and he has two sisters, Tiffany and Tisha. He played for New Albany High School. As a sophomore he lead New Albany to a 27-1 record and a class 4A state championship, the school's first state title since 1973. That same year, he was selected as the National Player of the Year for the sophomore class in 2016 by MaxPreps. Langford was named a Naismith All-American twice and MaxPreps All-American as a senior. Also as a senior, Langford was named Indiana Mr. Basketball and Gatorade Indiana Player of the Year. He is the 27th former Indiana Mr. Basketball to play for Indiana University. Langford also played on USA Basketball's 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup Team in Egypt that earned a bronze medal. You can follow Langford @yeahyeah22 on both Instagram and Twitter. Langford played one season of college ball at Indiana University. An injured thumb hampered his production for much of that lone 2018-19 season. The Hoosier averaged 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 34.1 minutes per game. He started all 32 games in which he appeared. Twice, in early January, Langford scored 28 points. He first hit that mark January 3rd against Illinois, then repeated the feat eight days later at Maryland. Langford was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team and Big Ten All-Freshman squad. Langford's Hoosiers finished 19-16 and made it to the third round of the NIT before losing to Wichita State.
