NBA 2K24 Summer League: Mathurin, Pacers overwhelm Magic

All five starters scored in double digits for the Pacers.

The Indiana Pacers defeated the Orlando Magic, 108-85, at Thomas & Mack Center on Monday during Day 4 of the 2023 NBA 2K24 Summer League.

The Pacers dominated the game right from the start and jumped out to a 23-17 score in the first quarter, setting the tone for the rest of the contest before running away with things in the second quarter. The Magic didn’t have a response on defense for the Pacers, and even though they won the third quarter by a 28-21 score, they couldn’t mount a comeback, as the Pacers closed things out with a 30-23 score in the final period.

All five starters scored in double digits for the Pacers. Andrew Nembhard led the way with a 21-point, seven-assist effort, and Bennedict Mathurin chipped in with 17 points and six dimes. Isaiah Jackson had a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, Jarace Walker had 16 points and Ben Sheppard finished with 16 points and nine boards.

Caleb Houstan was the leading scorer for the Magic with 18 points and five rebounds. Elijah Hughes posted 14 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Jett Howard, D.J. Wilson and Robert Baker all had 10 points each.

Both teams return to action Wednesday. The Pacers face the Oklahoma City Thunder, while the Magic have a meeting versus the New York Knicks.
