Jae’Sean Tate was not selected in the 2018 NBA Draft and spent two seasons playing overseas before signing with Houston on 11/25/20… entering 2024-25, he appeared in 244 games with 151 starts while averaging 9.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg and 2.2 apg… Tate earned NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 2020-21… he enters 2024-25 with the third-most games played (244) by an undrafted Rocket, trailing Matt Bullard (538) and Chuck Hayes (426).

Tate played four seasons at Ohio State... for his career, he averaged 11.7 ppg 6.0 rpg, 1.7 apg and 1.1 spg while shooting 55.2% from the floor… Tate started all 94 of his games played over his final three seasons… he earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors by media and coaches as both a sophomore and junior and was named Second Team All-Big Ten by coaches as a senior and Honorable Mention by media.

Tate’s father, Jermaine, played collegiately at Ohio State and Cincinnati and professionally overseas… he has a tattoo on his left leg with his mother's name and birthdate; she passed away when he was 8… Tate has three siblings: Jalen, Jada and Jocelyn… he helped Pickerington Central High School in Ohio to a 26-2 record and the OHSAA Division I State Championship as a sophomore… Tate also played football in high school before a shoulder injury cut short his junior season… he was high school teammates with Caris LeVert.
