Anthony Davis suffered a back injury tonight on a field goal attempt in the New Orleans Pelicans’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers with 8:12 left in the third quarter.
Davis did return with just over three minutes left in the third quarter. The Lakers went on a 14-0 run during Davis’ departure.
Davis has missed games due to various injuries throughout his first five NBA seasons.

Through nine games this season, Davis is averaging 31 ppg, 9.1 rpg and a career-high 3.1 bpg. The Pelicans have started the season 1-9.
