Los Angeles Lakers: Soy Garlic Korean Fried bibigo™ Mandu

Soy Garlic Korean Fried Bibigo Mandu

Bibigo, the Official Game Day Snack of the Los Angeles Lakers is taking dumplings to a whole new level in a unique-to-LA way. Inspired by the popular Korean Fried Chicken (“KFC”) craze taking over Los Angeles, we’ve taken out bibigo™ Mandu and created a deliciously crunchy, sweet, and sticky dish that’s perfect to impress friends and family or as a late-night snack while you’re watching the game.

Ingredients:

6-8 large cloves garlic, fresh, thinly sliced
4 tbsp. neutral oil
½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup honey
¼ rice vinegar
1 tbsp. ginger, fresh minced
8-10 clove garlic, fresh, minced
¼ tsp. sesame oil
1-2 tsp. water
1 ½ tbsp. cornstarch
4 tbsp. water
18 pc. bibigo™ Mandu, frozen

Directions:

  1. Soak garlic in cold water for 2-3 minutes. Drain and pat completely dry.
  2. Sauté garlic with oil over medium-low heat in a small skillet until lightly golden brown, 6-8 minutes. Transfer to paper towel.
  3. Add soy sauce, sugar, honey, vinegar, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, sesame oil, and 1-2 tsp. water in medium saucepan.
  4. Bring mixture to a simmer over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until combined and slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Combine cornstarch with 4 tbsp. of the warm sauce mixture in a bowl. Add mixture back into saucepan and simmer 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  6. Pan-fry bibigo™ Mandu according to package directions.
  7. Toss bibigo™ Mandu with soy garlic glaze until thoroughly coated and serve. Garnish with toasted garnish and serve.
