SAN FRANCISCO — The Miami Heat defeated the Sacramento Kings 2, 102-86, in the California Classic Summer League at Chase Center on Sunday.

The Heat held the lead for all but two minutes in this game, never relinquishing the lead after a 27-20 first quarter. Miami also took a 56-44 lead into the half, grabbing a game-high 16-point lead multiple times in the second half. The Heat shot 56.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range while holding the Kings to 42 percent from the field and 30 percent from long range. Miami also out-assisted Sacramento, 29-17, while outscoring the Kings in the paint, 54-32.

The Kings 2 (1-1) were led by Jordan Ford, who finished with 22 points, four rebounds and two steals. Xavier Sneed tallied 18 points, three rebounds, three assists and five steals. Adonis Arms accrued 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Antoine Davis led the bench with 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Heat (1-1) were led by Kel’el Ware, who logged 26 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Cole Swider amassed 21 points and two rebounds. Isaiah Stevens totaled 10 points, two rebounds, seven assists and two steals, while Alondes Williams led the bench with nine points, four rebounds and five assists.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, with Sacramento playing the Golden State Warriors and Miami matching up with the Los Angeles Lakers.
