Dick DeVos

Dick DeVos is the chairman of Windquest, a privately held enterprise and investment firm with a portfolio spanning diverse sectors, including consumer products, manufacturing, wellness, food and beverage, and sustainability solutions. In addition, he is engaged in his family’s leadership of several DeVos family-owned ventures, including the Orlando Magic and Amway.

Dick previously served as president of Windquest from 1988-2021, president of Amway from 1993-2002, and president and CEO of the Orlando Magic from 1989-1993.

In addition to his business roles, Dick has been a leader in a wide range of community initiatives. Along with his wife, Betsy, and their children, Dick helps to guide the activities of the Dick and Betsy DeVos Family Foundation. The organization has contributed more than $200 million to nonprofit organizations, including supporting many efforts in their home state of Michigan. Dick started the Education Freedom Fund, which awarded more than 4,000 scholarships to underprivileged children in Michigan, and started the West Michigan Aviation Academy, a high school that aims to provide a rigorous educational program through an aviation focus. In addition, he has served on the State Board of Education in Michigan.

Dick has led as chair/co-chair various Grand Rapids-area downtown revitalization and regional health care improvements, including a $75M downtown arena, a $212M convention center, a $130M heart hospital, a $90M medical school and a $30M downtown market. He also served, from 2015 to 2019, as chairman of the board of the Spectrum Health (now Corewell Health) medical system, was the Republican nominee for governor of Michigan in 2006 and is the author of the New York Times best-selling book, “Rediscovering American Values.”
