Memphis, Tenn. - The MAM Classic, presented by the Memphis Grizzlies, is the city's largest and longest-running holiday tournament, boasting over 100 teams, 1,200 players annually and 4,500 spectators annually. The tournament will culminate this Wednesday, Dec. 22, with the championship games at FedExForum as part of Grizzlies Youth Basketball's holiday programming.

Championship games start at 1 p.m. on Wednesday and will continue throughout the day. In addition to gameplay, Memphis Grizzlies Director of Player Support and MAM Board Member Elliot Perry will assist with select trophy presentations. The Grizz Girls and members of the Claw Crew will also be on hand to entertain fans during the championship lineup.

The MAM Classic Championship is open to the public. Fans can purchase tickets for $15 at the FedExForum Box Office on the day of the event. Tournament proceeds benefit team community partner Memphis Athletic Ministries (MAM), which exists to “coach, grow, and lead the youth of Memphis” through its various services.

Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies announced today they will host a variety of Holiday Youth Basketball Programming in December as the 2021 holiday season tips off.

The Grizzlies will host two, three-day Holiday Youth Basketball Camps presented by Nike for girls and boys ages 7-16. The first camp takes place Monday, Dec. 20-Wednesday, Dec. 22 at Independent Presbyterian Church, with the second on Monday, Dec. 27-Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal School. For $150, campers will receive skills training provided by Grizzlies Youth Basketball staff as well as giveaways and tickets to a future Grizzlies home game. In addition, the Grizzlies will host a Gameday Clinic presented by Nike on Wednesday, Dec. 29, on the FedExForum main court. All participants of the Gameday Clinic will receive two tickets to that evening’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, various giveaway items and will have an opportunity to watch NBA player warmups before doors open to the public. The first session, for ages 6-10, will run from 1-2 p.m. and the second session, for ages 11-16, will take the court from 2-3 p.m. Players of all skill levels are welcome to attend. Memphis Grizzlies Youth Basketball affiliate, Team Thad, has advanced to the Jr. NBA Global Championship Regional Finals to be held at LakePoint Champions Center in Emerson, Ga. from June 14 -16. Team Thad was the undefeated winner of the Grizzlies’ first-ever Jr. NBA Global Championship Local Qualifier held this past April at FedExForum. The group will advance to compete against multiple teams across the Southeast region, all in hopes of advancing to the Global Finals in Orlando, Fla. this August.

In its second year, the Jr. NBA Global Championship is a youth basketball tournament for the top 13 and 14-year-old players from around the world. The Global Finals will feature both boys and girls divisions, each comprised of 16 regional champion teams that will participate in on-court competition and off-court programming. Each Regional Finals will consist of pool play competition followed by single-elimination bracket play, and every team will play a minimum of four games. The 2019 Global Finals will take place in August at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. The Grizzlies were just one of a select number of NBA teams to host a Local Qualifier and were the only organization to do so inside an NBA venue.

Memphis Grizzlies Youth Basketball affiliate to compete at Southeast Regional Finals of the Jr. NBA Global Championship

Rosalyn Knox has been named the 2018-19 Grizzlies Youth Basketball Coach of the Year. Knox becomes the third-ever honoree, joining Randy Odom of Memphis Athletic Ministries (’16-’17) and Kevin Wieters of Grace Athletics (’17-’18).

An 11-year veteran of the United States Navy, Rosalyn, aka “Coach Roz,” currently serves as the Sports, Fitness &amp; Aquatics Program Director for the Memphis Jewish Community Center. Within the past few years, Knox started a city-wide youth basketball league for girls, and has been coaching in the Memphis area for over two decades. Rosalyn’s coaching philosophy can be traced back to her military service, where common traits such as teamwork, leadership, communication and service are easily applicable to youth sports.

Knox is heavily involved with Grizzlies Youth Basketball initiatives as well. Her gym frequently serves as a host for Grizzlies Basketball Camps. In addition, her basketball league participates annually in Junior Grizzlies programs, and she regularly attends the Jr. NBA Coaches Forums.

Coach Roz grew up in Memphis, playing her high school ball at Memphis East before going on to play collegiately at Lane College in Jackson, about 86 miles away from FedExForum. Knox earned her M.B.A. in Health Care Management and her B.S. in Exercise Sports Sciences. She is a certified personal trainer and is also in the process of obtaining a USA Basketball Coaches License.

Rosalyn will now go on to serve as the Memphis Grizzlies’ nominee for National Jr. NBA Coach of the Year. The Jr. NBA and Positive Coaching Alliance will conduct a screening process to narrow the pool of nominees to eight semifinalists. From there, a panel of judges, along with a fan vote via social media, will decide the top three finalists and a National Jr. NBA Coach of the Year winner. The top three finalists will each be awarded with a financial grant to support their local youth basketball organizations and a free Positive Coaching Alliance training. The finalists will also receive a trip to Chicago where the Coach of the Year winner will be announced and honored on a national stage at the Jr. NBA Youth Basketball Leadership Conference on May 17, 2019.

The Legends of Basketball will make its way to Memphis to mentor young athletes during the National Basketball Retired Players Association’s (NBRPA) Full Court Press: Prep for Success event on Thursday, June 14 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. CT at Memphis Athletic Ministries’ Grizzlies Center (2107 Ball Road). Memphis Grizzlies Youth Basketball coaches will be on site to offer basketball tips and instruction. In addition, the Grizz Girls presented by Gossett Motor Cars will be in attendance to greet all clinic participants while the Claw Crew will be hyping up kids with t-shirt tosses and more fun to wrap up the clinic.

The NBRPA, in partnership with the Jr. NBA, Police Athletic League, Leadership Foundations and National Basketball Coaches Association, will welcome boys and girls aged eight to 18. The program is designed to support the development of young people both on-and-off the court through basketball instruction, mentorship and life skills curriculum. Former professional basketball standouts including Anthony Bonner, Ronald Brewer, Jason Caffey, former Grizzlies guard Wesley Person and Bernard Thompson will coach the attendees.

The Memphis Grizzlies today announced their Spring Break Youth Basketball Programs presented by Nike for kids ages 6-17, including a game-day clinic on March 12 and a four-day youth basketball camp from March 13 through March 16. Each program gives kids the opportunity to receive high-quality instruction provided by Grizzlies Youth Basketball staff and two tickets to an upcoming Grizzlies game.

The Grizzlies will host two sessions of their Spring Break Game-Day Clinic on Monday, March 12 on the FedExForum main court. Kids ages 6-11 will take the court from 1:00-2:30 p.m. while youth ages 12-17 will participate from 2:30-4:30 p.m. All for just $75, each participant will also receive two tickets to that night's Grizzlies vs. Milwaukee Bucks game where they will have the opportunity to partake in one-of-a-kind fan experiences like pregame shootaround, anthem buddies and the high-five tunnel.

The Grizzlies will also host a four-day basketball camp at Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal School (246 S. Belvedere Blvd.) for kids ages 7-16 from March 13 through March 16. Not only will campers develop their basketball skills while receiving guest instruction from certified GrizzFit coaches, but they will also have the opportunity to participate in the official Jr. NBA Skills Challenge. For $265, campers will also receive a giveaway package inclusive of Nike apparel, a full-size basketball and two tickets to an upcoming Grizzlies game. Participants can also expect surprise guest appearances from Memphis Grizzlies and Memphis Hustle players during the camp.

The Memphis Grizzlies will host a Youth Basketball Fall Break Clinic on Friday, October 13 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. on the FedExForum main court for boys and girls ages 7-16.  Each registered attendee will also receive two game tickets to the Grizzlies vs. Pelicans preseason matchup at 7 p.m. that same day.

Young athletes will have the opportunity to develop their shooting, dribbling and defensive skills and get the chance to “Play Like The Pros” during the clinic at FedExForum. For just $75, attendees will receive two hours of instruction led by Grizzlies Youth Basketball staff, a Jr. NBA Week T-shirt and the opportunity to watch NBA players like Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Chandler Parsons warm up before staying for the 7 p.m. tip-off of the Grizzlies vs. Pelicans game. Clinic attendees will also be entered into a random drawing where 20 will be selected to participate in the Anthem Buddies in-game fan experience that night.
