Scottie Barnes takes home Kia Rookie of the Month honors for the month of March & April.
Named Kia Rookie of the Month in February, the No. 4 overall takes home the honors once again, this time for the months of March and April. Barnes ranked third in scoring among rookies (17.1 ppg) and second in rebounding (7.6 rpg), both improvements from his previous March campaign (15.2 ppg and 6.8 rpg). The young Raptors star recorded his best game of the 2021-22 season on March 18 when he scored a new career-high 31 points and career-best 17 rebounds in a loss to the Lakers. Barnes became the first rookie in franchise history to tally 30-plus points and 15-plus rebounds in the same game vs. the Lakers. The Kia Rookie of the Year candidate was a key part of Toronto’s success during the regular season, helping the Raptors surge late in the season to clinch the No. 5 seed in the East. Barnes will make his first playoff appearance later this week against the No. 4 seed Philadelphia 76ers.

Jalen Green | Houston Rockets
Jalen Green takes home Kia Rookie of the Month honors for the month of March & April.
The No. 2 overall pick was a star over the month of March, displaying top-notch highlight-reel plays throughout while recording season-high stats. Green ranked second in scoring among rookies (20.8) and first in made 3-pointers (2.9). The Rockets rookie scored 30-plus points in three games over the month and including a lights-out performance in a victory against the Lakers on March 9 when he racked up 32 points while shooting 13-for-21 (61.9%) from the field. He ended the month on a high note, logging four straight games with 20-plus points that also included at least five 3-pointers. With the Rockets eliminated from the playoffs, we’ll have to wait until next season to see what else is in store for the young star guard.
