A trio of well-rounded efforts from players who could be in line for expanded roles this coming season propelled the Memphis Grizzlies to a narrow 94-92 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in Salt Lake City Summer League action Monday evening at Delta Center.

The game was closely contested throughout, as there were only two lead changes and two ties overall. The 76ers (0-1) emerged from the first quarter with a three-point lead and still held that advantage at halftime. Philadelphia appeared firmly in control when it expanded its edge to nine points during the third period, but the Grizzlies’ (1-0) dominant fourth-quarter showing – which saw them outscore the Sixers by a 26-15 margin in the final 10 minutes – lifted Memphis to victory.

Kenneth Lofton Jr. led the way for the Grizzlies with a 21-point, 13-rebound double-double that included four assists and two steals. Vince Williams Jr. furnished 19 points and seven boards. David Roddy supplied 18 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal. Jake LaRavia totaled 12 points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Rookie second-round pick GG Jackson finished with 10 points, two assists, a rebound and two blocks.

Terquavion Smith paced the 76ers with 18 points, adding three assists and one rebound. DJ Steward managed 15 points, four boards, two assists and one steal. Ricky Council IV and Jaden Springer generated matching 11-point tallies while recording six and four rebounds, respectively. Louis King supplied 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists and one block.

The two teams return to action Wednesday night, with the Grizzlies tangling with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the 76ers facing the Utah Jazz.
