Report: New York Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. won't rush back from 'serious' injury

Even though his team is vying to remain in the thick of the playoff picture, New York Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. won’t rush back from injury until he’s good and ready.

The fifth-year guard, who is averaging career-highs in nearly every statistical category this season, has been out with a stress injury in his left shin since Nov. 29. In a report from Marc Berman of the New York Post, Hardaway did not hold himself to a return date while emphasizing “this is serious.”

“The goal is just to get better first. That’s the goal. I’m not giving myself no deadline. I don’t want to get to that point and be upset and down on myself. I don’t want to give myself a set date on when I should return. I’ll do what I can to get this right. When I’m confident and ready to go, then we’ll see.” — Tim Hardaway Jr.

The Knicks are currently 14-13, tied with Philadelphia and Detroit for the seventh-best record in the Eastern Conference.
