In-Season Tournament
At the conclusion of the Group Play stage, eight teams will advance to the Knockout Rounds: the team with the best record in Group Play games across each of the six groups, plus one wild card from each conference.
The Knockout Rounds will consist of single-elimination games, beginning with the Quarterfinals — played on Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5 — then the Semifinals and Championship, played at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Thursday, December 7 and Saturday, December 9.
Teams that qualify for the Knockout Rounds will compete for an all-new trophy — the NBA Cup — plus a prize pool, to be allocated to each player on each team:
Players on winning team of Championship: $500,000 each
Players on losing team of Championship: $200,000 each
Players on losing team of Semifinals: $100,000 each
Players on losing team of Quarterfinals: $50,000 each
At the conclusion of the IST, the NBA will name the tournament's Most Valuable Player and the All-Tournament Team, with selection based on the players' performance in both Group Play and Knockout Rounds.
*And remember: all IST games (except the Championship game) will count toward the regular season.
