As we celebrate NBA75, we have arrived at one of the most important milestones on the calendar: November 1st, which this year marks the 75th anniversary of the first game in league history, in 1946. After the formation of the BAA, the predecessor of the NBA, the schedule called for the New York Knicks to open the season on the road against the now-defunct Toronto Huskies. Through a deep dive into the archive, several players on the floor that day relive the memories of playing in a new league, and in that first game including the Knicks Ossie Schectman, who will be forever famous for having scored the first basket in league history.
