Jonas Valanciunas led the way for the Pelicans with 30 points (8-11 FG, 13-14 FT), 17 rebounds and four assists, while Brandon Ingram (28 points, nine rebounds, seven assists) and Zion Williamson (16 points, five rebounds, three assists) added a combined 44 points in the victory. Terry Rozier tallied 23 points, eight rebounds and 11 assists for the Hornets in the losing effort. The Pelicans improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Hornets fall to 1-1.
