Remembering Dikembe Mutombo (1966-2024)
A larger-than-life figure and an indomitable spirit, Dikembe Mutombo was one of the greatest defensive players in NBA history. A feared shot blocker, he was a four-time DPOY winner; an eight-time All Star and a member of the Naismith Hall of Fame. But off the court, he was a giant presence as well. The NBA’s first ever Global Ambassador, Mutombo made a huge impact all over the world with his humanitarian efforts especially in his native Democratic Republic of Congo.
