Will be reevaluated in 10 days
Ball returned to game action for the first time since January of 2022 this season but will now miss time with something other than a knee injury. The 27-year-old's next chance to play is expected to come Nov. 9 against Atlanta, though the team could opt to bring the point guard back slowly. In Ball's absence, Ayo Dosunmu and Dalen Terry are candidates for more playing time off the bench.

Iffy with ankle sprain
Smith has been impactful off the bench for Chicago to start the season, averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game. If he's sidelined, Julian Phillips, Dalen Terry and Matas Buzelis would be candidates for more minutes off the bench.

Dealing with wrist soreness
Given his lower-body injury history, it's encouraging that Ball isn't listed with knee injury management. However, the veteran guard is still in danger of missing his second game of the season. The severity of the wrist issue remains unclear, but if it sidelines Ball, Ayo Dosunmu would be a candidate for more minutes off the bench.
