Matchup History
Though the Oklahoma City Thunder weren't introduced until the summer leading into the 2008-09 regular season, their history with the Philadelphia 76ers dates back to 1967, when they were known as the Seattle Supersonics. The Sixers and Sonics had years of hard-fought battles between stars like Paul Silas and Darryl Dawkins, Jack Sikma and Julius Erving, Charles Barkley and Shawn Kemp, Jerry Stackhouse and Gary Payton, and Allen Iverson and Ray Allen. Since the relocation, the Thunder have taken the court against the 76ers while boasting lineups featuring future NBA Hall of Famers Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul.
The 76ers swept the Thunder in their two matchups during the 2023-24 season. The Sixers visited the Thunder on November 25, winning 127-123 with 63 points coming from Embiid and Maxey. Their second game of the season on April 2 resulted in another Sixers win over the dominant Thunder squad. In Embiid’ first game back after his knee injury, he recorded 24 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. tallied 25 points in the 76ers victory.
