Raptors rookie Scottie Barnes was unable to play in Game 2 as Toronto fell to Philadelphia.
As expected, Toronto Raptors star rookie forward Scottie Barnes sat out Monday’s Game 2 against Philadelphia, a 112-97 loss, with a sprained left ankle.
Barnes, who showed up at the team’s shootaround earlier in the day with a large boot on his left foot, underwent an MRI after being injured in the fourth quarter of Toronto’s Game 1 defeat on Sunday.
While contesting a shot from Joel Embiid, Barnes’ ankle buckled as Embiid came down on top of his foot. Barnes had to be helped off the court with 9:06 left in the game. The Raptors later said he suffered a left ankle sprain and would not return. After the game, the team said that his initial X-rays were negative.
