4 NBA things to know for Oct. 23

Get up to speed on the latest NBA news, plus a quick look at stories we’ll be following closely today:

1. Fire up NBA League Pass: Pelicans-Raptors and Lakers-Clippers served as the appetizer last night. Tonight, we’ve got 22 teams in action — the first of which tip off at 7 p.m. ET — all of which can be seen for free on NBA League Pass.

2. Lots of East debuts tonight: From Kemba Walker in Boston (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) to Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn (7:30 ET, League Pass) and Jimmy Butler in Miami (7:30 ET, League Pass), familiar faces officially get a fresh start in some new (East) places.

3. Don’t forget about the West, too: The Mavs and their new Luka Doncic/Kristaps Porzingis combo host the Wizards (8:30 ET, League Pass), the drastically different Jazz and Thunder meet in Salt Lake City (9 ET, League Pass), while the restocked Kings visit the Suns (10 ET, League Pass) and the Blazers and Nuggets square off in Portland (10:30 ET, ESPN).

4. Full night of hoops = full night of fantasy. Whether you’re the daily fantasy league type or the season-long type, this is the first official full night of 2019-20. We’ve got some players for you to pick (or try to trade for now) before everything gets rolling.
