2021 NBA Finals

Suns release letter from Managing Partner Robert Sarver

In a nod to head coach Monty Williams, Sarver writes 'everything we want is on the other side of hard, and we'll get there together.'

The Suns came up short in their attempt to add a first NBA title on the franchise ledger, dropping The 2021 NBA Finals to the Bucks in six games. But their run from out of the playoffs — ousted after an 8-0 bubble showing on a tiebreaker — to Western Conference champions proved a thrilling ride for their fanbase.

Wednesday night, the team released a letter from Managing Partner Robert Sarver on social media that read:

Dear Phoenix Suns Fans,

Thank you for your unrelenting support this season. You gave us a home court advantage all year long. You showed up loud and proud and represented your team with respect.

We set out to bring an NBA Championship home to the Valley, a goal you should expect every season. We came up a little short this year, but we know there’s more work to be done.

Echoing the sentiment of Monty Williams, everything we want is on the other side of hard. What’s on the other side is incredibly rewarding , and we’ll get there together.

Now it’s time to get back to work. This is what a championship culture looks like. I can’t wait for us all to share in the feeling of what a championship season feels like.

See you soon,

Robert Sarver
Managing Partner
