On his way to posting a league-high 50 games with 30+ points, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been an equal opportunity scorer, putting up 30+ points on nearly every team he’s faced this season.
The checklist: 27 teams down, two teams to go.
The two exceptions: The Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks.
- Toronto: Shai had 23 points in OKC’s first game against the Raptors on Feb. 4 and has his final chance tonight (7 ET, NBA App) in his hometown of Toronto
- Milwaukee: Shai and the Thunder have yet to face the Bucks this season. Their first meeting takes place on Sunday (7 ET, NBA TV) with another on April 12
On Wednesday, Shai joined Michael Jordan (1989-90 and 1990-91), Tracy McGrady (2002-03), Kobe Bryant (2005-06) and James Harden (2018-19) as the only players in the past 35 years to put up 50 games with at least 30 points.
By Sunday, Shai can join Larry Bird (1984-85), Jordan (1986-87) and Harden (2018-19) as the only players to score 30+ points against every team in the NBA in a single season (min. 20 teams in the league).
With the Thunder locked in a three-team race for the No. 1 seed in the West, they’ll need every point Shai can give them as they sit two wins away from their first 50-win season since 2015-16.
