Denver's high-flying big man is out indefinitely after suffering his injuries on Christmas Day.

Aaron Gordon is averaging 13.6 ppg this season for the Nuggets.

Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon will be out indefinitely after suffering cuts to his hand and face resulting from a dog bite on Christmas Day, the team announced on Wednesday.

Updates on his condition will be provided as necessary, the team said. This season, Gordon is averaging 13.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in 32 minutes per game.

Gordon’s impact: The versatile, high-flying forward played in the Nuggets’ Christmas Day game against the Golden State Warriors, finishing with 16 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.

The Nuggets host the Memphis Grizzlies on Dec. 27 (9 ET, NBA League Pass) and play seven of their next nine games at home before embarking on a five-game road trip in mid-January.

Gordon’s absence may lead to a bigger role for fourth-year big man Zeke Nnaji as well as additional minutes in the frontcourt for talented forward Michael Porter Jr.
