NBA legends, current players and members of the basketball community pay tribute to the Hall of Famer.

NBA legend Jerry West, who died Wednesday, dedicated his life to basketball and the people within and around the game.

Jerry West, who was selected to the Basketball Hall of Fame three times in a storied career, died Wednesday morning, the NBA announced.

He was 86.

Nicknamed “Mr. Clutch” for his late-game exploits as a player, West went into the Hall of Fame as a player in 1980 and again as a member of the 1960 U.S. Olympic Team in 2010. He will be enshrined for a third time later this year as a contributor, the first member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame to be inducted as both a player and a contributor.

NBA legends, current players and other members of the basketball community took to social media to reflect on West’s career, contributions and personal friendships.
