LAS VEGAS — The San Antonio Spurs defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 90-85, at Thomas & Mack Center in the NBA 2K25 Summer League on Tuesday.

The Spurs and Pelicans played a game that went down to the wire, but the Spurs secured the victory with some clutch free throws down the stretch. The first 10 minutes ended with a 21-21 tie, and the Spurs were only up by four points by halftime following a 24-20 score. A 22-19 score in the third quarter boosted San Antonio’s lead to seven points, but the Pelicans were not done fighting. They won the final quarter by a 25-23 score and could’ve closed the gap even more, but the Spurs iced the game down the stretch to secure the victory.

Riley Minix led the Spurs in scoring with 16 points off the bench. Donovan Williams was productive off the bench and finished with 15 points, five assists and three rebounds. Jamaree Bouyea had 14 points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Sidy Cissoko recorded 11 points and six boards. Harrison Ingram notched 12 points.

Karlo Matkovic was the best player for New Orleans despite coming off the bench, as he ended with 25 points while adding five rebounds and three blocks. Jordan Ford was the only other New Orleans player who scored in double digits after posting 19 points. No starter reached the 10-point mark for the Pels. Antonio Reeves was the highest-scoring starter with eight points.
