NBA 2K24 Summer League: Pelicans close Sunday slate with win over Warriors

Dereon Seabron's 10-point 4th quarter closed out Day 3 with a win over the Warriors.

The Pelicans defeated the Warriors, 94-86. Dereon Seaborn led the way with 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists for the Pelicans.

The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Golden State Warriors, 94-86, in the NBA 2K24 Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center on Sunday.

There were 10 ties and 16 lead changes in this game, with neither team grabbed a double-digit lead. New Orleans went on a 16-2 run in the third quarter, and ended the game on a 15-9 run to close things out. The Pelicans shot 40% from the field while holding the Warriors to 34% shooting.

New Orleans out-blocked Golden State, 9-0, while outscoring them in the paint 44-24. They also outscored them in fastbreak points, 20-5.

The Pelicans (1-1) were led by Dereon Seabron, finishing with 25 points, six rebounds and two assists. Dyson Daniels tallied 17 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and two blocks. No. 14 overall pick, Jordan Hawkins, had 13 points and five rebounds.

The Warriors (0-2) were led by Lester Quinones, collecting 26 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. No. 19 overall selection Brandin Podziemski missed 13 of his 16 shots but still made an impact with 11 assists, nine rebounds and eight points. Gui Santos totaled 13 points and three boards, and Mikeal Jantunen led the bench with 16 points and five rebounds.

On deck for New Orleans is a matchup with the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. As for Golden State, they play the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday for their next outing.
