The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Washington Wizards, 96-85, in the NBA 2K24 Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center on Tuesday.

There were 13 ties and 14 lead changes in this close-fought battle and neither team led by more than 13 points. That was San Antonio late in the fourth quarter, riding a 30-20 fourth quarter to victory. Neither team led by more than eight points until midway through the final frame. The Spurs (2-1) were led by Malaki Branham, who tallied 29 points and two rebounds. Blake Wesley finished with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. Dominick Barlow totaled 20 points and seven boards, while Julian Champagnie accrued 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Both teams return to action on Friday, with San Antonio playing the Detroit Pistons and Washington facing the Oklahoma City Thunder.
