Brandon Williams totaled 24 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 102-88 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA 2K24 Summer League on Friday at Cox Pavilion.

After a slow start the Timberwolves held a 28-21 lead after one quarter. The Pelicans bounced back with an 11-2 run to start the second, but the Timberwolves regained control and pushed ahead to a nine-point advantage at the break. The Pelicans responded again in the third quarter and claimed a three-point edge heading into the final frame; Minnesota was dominant in the fourth and powered its way to a 14-point win.

Williams rounded out his stat line with two rebounds, three assists and three steals in his team-high 29 minutes. Josh Minott followed up with 20 points, four rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks. Three other players scored in double digits for the Timberwolves, including Leonard Miller, who finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.

Meanwhile, Dyson Daniels led the Pelicans with 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, four steals and a block in 31 minutes. Jordan Hawkins followed up with 16 points, two rebounds, five assists and two steals, while Dereon Seabron and Landers Nolley II chipped in 10 points each.

Next up for the Pelicans is a matchup against the Warriors on Sunday. The Timberwolves play again on Wednesday against the Hawks.
