The 6-foot-10, 210-pound Jones averaged 8.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season for the Longhorns and was named Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year.
Born in Nassau, Jones is the fifth Bahamian player to be selected in the NBA Draft.
The trades indicate the Knicks may have been saving money to maximize their chances in the upcoming free agency period, when they are in position to afford two top players.
