As mentioned in the trade deadline special of our weekly buy or sell piece, the NBA trade deadline is just undefeated when it comes to excitement.

Now that the deadline has officially passed, let’s look at the overall winners and losers from the day. Players mentioned in the aforementioned column are also included below.

This notebook-type article will include little tidbits for the players who matter for fantasy purposes. I’m excluding minor transactions and deals that will result in buyouts.

The Trade:

Sixers receive:

• James Harden
• Paul Millsap

Nets receive:

• Ben Simmons
• Seth Curry
• Andre Drummond

Winners:

Simmons, of course, just because he’s going to be back on the court. I like the fit in Brooklyn with Simmons playing the four. He’ll be surrounded with shooters – better shooters for half the games – which helps him for fantasy.

Losers:

Curry has been fantastic for fantasy managers this year. He takes a hit going to Brooklyn as the fourth or fifth option in the offense.

Cam Thomas is also hurt with Curry’s arrival.

With Harden in Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey‘s usage will go down. He’ll still start, but expect fewer looks and less involvement in the offense.

Pelicans receive:

CJ McCollum, Larry Nance Jr. Tony Snell

Trail Blazers receive:

• Josh Hart
• Didi Louzada
• Joe Ingles
• Elijah Hughes

Jazz receive:

• Nickeil Alexander-Walker
• Juancho Hernangomez

Spurs receive:

• Tomas Satoransky

Winners:

Hart is the main winner here. He’s the second option on the team now, and when Damian Lillard is back, he’ll still get enough looks to be a must-start player.

Jaxson Hayes should continue to provide mid-round value in New Orleans with Nance out for the season.

Losers:

NAW looked like a winner until Portland flipped him to Utah. Now he’s just a guy competing with Jordan Clarkson. Big L for him. The rest of the players are either hurt and out or they are lateral moves, at best.

I’ve been really high on Herb Jones in New Orleans, but you have to at least knock him down a bit after McCollum’s arrival.

Kings receive:

• Domantas Sabonis
• Jeremy Lamb
• Justin Holiday

Pacers receive:

• Tyrese Haliburton
• Buddy Hield
• Tristan Thompson

Winners:

De’Aaron Fox could see a bump in production with Sabonis in town.

Davion Mitchell came off the bench, but he was fantastic in 30-plus minutes. I’d love to see him start, but if he’s producing like this, we’ll take it.

Harrison Barnes should continue to thrive on a bad team.

Losers:

Richaun Holmes, who I covered here.

With Hield in Indiana, the Chris Duarte hopes and dreams likely fade away.

Mavericks receive:

• Spencer Dinwiddie
• Davis Bertans

Wizards receive:

• Kristaps Porzingis

Winners:

Porzingis is hurt, but when he is – maybe? – healthy, he should be featured heavily in the offense.

Losers:

Wizards receive:

• Ish Smith
• Vernon Carey Jr.

Hornets receive:

• Montrezl Harrell

Winners:

Harrell, who I covered here.

No Bradley Beal. No Dinwiddie. It’s that time of the year that we all love – Ish Smith season. He’ll volume his way into being fantasy-relevant in 12-team leagues.

Daniel Gafford and Thomas Bryant, who I mentioned here.

Whoever the new backup point guard is in Charlotte will have value, too. Your guess is as good as mine.

Losers:

Mason Plumlee loses value with Harrell’s arrival, but then again, you have to ask yourself if he really had any value outside of rebounding anyway?

Celtics receive:

• Derrick White

Spurs receive:

• Josh Richardson
• Romeo Langford

Winners:

Devin Vassell is the biggest winner with White’s departure. The rebuilding Spurs should feature Vassell moving forward, and the second-year wing has shown us glimpses of his potential throughout the season. He’s a must-add player.

Losers:

White, who I covered here.

• Ricky Rubio

Cavaliers receive:

• Caris LeVert

Winners:

LeVert should thrive in Cleveland. I still have these high hopes of him becoming an all-star from his early Brooklyn days. Playing with Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen could help him reach that ceiling.

Losers:

Clippers receive:

• Robert Covington
• Normal Powell

Blazers receive:

• Eric Bledsoe
• Justise Winslow
• Keon Johnson

Winners:

Bledsoe in Portland I like, and once healthy, he shouldn’t have too much trouble competing for minutes.

Covington’s skills are diminished, but Los Angeles is a nice landing spot for him. I expect him to get more of a workload with the Clippers.

Losers:

Goodbye, Dennis Smith Jr. Nice to see you again.

Covington and Powell are bad news for the likes of Nicolas Batum, Amir Coffey, and Luke Kennard. All three were solid streamers over the last handful of weeks with the number of injuries. Now, they are waiver-wire fodder.

Pistons receive:

• Marvin Bagley

Kings receive:

• Donte DiVincenzo
• Trey Lyles
• Josh Jackson

Bucks receive:

• Serge Ibaka

Clippers receive:

• Rodney Hood
• Semi Ojeleye

The winners:

Clippers center/forward Isaiah Hartenstein is the clear winner here. With Ibaka out of the way, we’ll see an increased workload for the already productive big man. Top 60 the rest of the way isn’t out of the question.

Bagley is a winner, too, who I covered here.

Losers:

DiVincenzo by default, because I’m not quite sure what his role will be. It could be a neutral move for him, but the Kings have so many players all of the sudden.

Suns receive:

• Torrey Craig

The winners:

The losers:

The losers are fantasy managers because we’ll have to figure out if Smith, Goga Bitadze, or Isaiah Jackson will have enough of a role to matter. It’s a shame, really, because the former and latter could be big difference makers if they were set free.

The Suns are losers, too, for not extending Smith in the offseason.

Dragic by default, right? He’s likely to be bought out and can go somewhere where he might play.
