Enjoy Basketball: NBA Fan Favorites award picks

Enjoy Basketball shares their picks for this year's fan favorites as voting wraps up on May 3.

Meet Enjoy Basketball, a brand co-founded by basketball creator Kenny Beecham. Their mission is to uplift the game by providing entertaining NBA coverage, without all the hot takes. The Enjoy Basketball newsletter drops every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, keeping you in the loop with NBA news, and providing you with player interviews, trivia, memes, and more.

The discussions surrounding NBA end-of-year awards are starting to simmer down as the playoffs have overtaken the collective consciousness of NBA fans. But award season hasn’t fully wrapped up yet, because the NBA wants to decide the best moments of the season—and they need your help to do it.

Check out our picks for NBA Fan Favorites below, then go let your own voice be heard and vote for your favorite moments here and in the NBA App.

Voting ends at 11:59pm ET on May 3, and winners will be announced May 5.

AT&T Slam Dunk

Where were you when Aaron Gordon flew a mile high and ripped down the rims in Denver? Were you sprawled out on your couch, finishing off your last cup of Christmas hot chocolate? Same here. Gordon gets our vote here, in part because of the timing of this play; wrapping up the Christmas day NBA slate with a clutch dunk in front of a crazed Denver crowd? It doesn’t get much better.

Kuhmo Handle

Have you ever hit a step-back so nasty that you had to physically raise your hand and ask “where did my defender go?” Well, Tyrese Haliburton did that, so it only feels right to give him our vote for best handle. Haliburton actually looked surprised at his own move. For the record, we actually have done this move, too. There’s just no video of it… trust us.

Favorite Photo

Andrew D. Bernstein’s photo showcases LeBron James’ historical moment of breaking the all-time scoring record.

We’d frame every photo here and put them up on our wall–each one is incredible in its own right. But only one captures a moment when a legend broke a record that for a long, long time felt unbreakable. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer LeBron James gets our vote.

Best Style

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander rocks his style from the tunnel to postgame media availability.

We all have that friend who wears the most eccentric clothes imaginable but still somehow gets a fit off, right? That’s probably how other NBA players think of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He made his first NBA All-Star game in 2023, but he’s always been All-NBA with his style. SGA gets our vote.

Best Assist

Usually, a player needs to see the player they’re passing it to. Luka Doncic is not your usual player! Mavericks play-by-play announcer Mark Followill asked “how on Earth did he find Hardy?” and, well, we’re not quite sure, which is why Luka’s impossible assist gets our vote. The more you watch it, the less sense it makes.

Best Block

The word “block” doesn’t really do justice to what Josh Okogie did here, and that’s why the Suns guard gets our vote. We don’t exactly know what to call it– but we know we like it. Going forward, if you just abduct the ball from a shooter’s hand while they’re at the peak of their shot, it should count as its own statistic. We’ll think of a name. In the meantime, just enjoy Okogie’s two-way brilliance on this play.
