The Portland Trail Blazers played without star guard and leading scorer Damian Lillard in Sunday night’s 127-110 loss in New Orleans.
Lillard, who was listed on the injury report as probable with right calf tightness, went through warmups before the team decided to rest him about 45 minutes before tip-off.
Pelicans swingman Trey Murphy II did a pretty good Lillard impression by hitting nine 3-pointers and scoring a career-high 41 points on 13-for-20 shooting.
The 13th-place Blazers have now lost eight of their last 11 games and trail the Jazz, Lakers, Pelicans and Thunder — all tied for 9th — by two games.
