The 13th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Duarte emerged as a standout rookie in the 2021-22 season. He posted 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game over 28 minutes per game in 55 games and was an All-Rookie second team selection.
However, last season he saw his role shrink a bit (7.9 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 19.5 mpg) as the Pacers gave a bigger role to All-Star Tyrese Haliburton and rookie swingman Bennedict Mathurin. Indiana was also active in the offseason, snagging Bruce Brown in free agency to give the Pacers another player who will need minutes in 2023-24.
