Darius Garland is the 2nd-leading scorer for the Cavaliers this season.
Cavaliers guard Darius Garland will be out for at least four weeks due to a fractured jaw and forward-center Evan Mobley will be out for six to eight weeks due to arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, the team announced Friday. The status for both players will be updated as appropriate.
What happened: Garland sustained a fractured jaw during the third quarter of Thursday’s loss in Boston. A CT scan administered Friday morning at Cleveland Clinic confirmed the injury. He will have a procedure to heal the affected area and will be reevaluated in approximately four weeks.

Mobley, who hasn’t played since Dec. 6, will undergo knee surgery at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health to remove a loose body. Recent imaging and a series of treatment and rehabilitation confirmed that surgery was the best option to alleviate the discomfort in the knee.
Garland’s impact: The 23-year-old is averaging 20.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 5.9 assists this season for the Cavaliers.
Mobley’s impact: The 6-foot-11 big man is averaging 16.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 2023-24.
The Cavaliers (13-12) are currently ninth in the Eastern Conference standings.
