The first meeting between last season’s NBA Finalists went the Warriors’ way after they upended a red-hot Celtics club by 16 points in San Francisco back in December. The second meeting is back in Boston, Golden State’s first trip back after closing out the Finals on the parquet floor last June.
The Warriors have had a disjointed start to the season and have really struggled on the road, going 5-17 and just 1-10 (3-8 ATS) when playing the underdog role. The Warriors are coming off a road win against the Wizards but have lost four of their past six overall, while Boston enters play as winners in their past seven contests despite Jaylen Brown’s absence the past three games. He’s questionable for tonight’s game but hopeful of returning.

Warriors vs. Celtics Best Bets
Celtics -6 (-110, FanDuel)
The Celtics continue to have one of the best home-court advantages in the Association. They’re 17-5 on the season in Boston, including a perfect record as a home favorite when the spread is six or fewer points, as they are tonight. Golden State’s pace of play will work against them here, creating more offensive possessions for the league’s most efficient offense. The Warriors need a top-tier scoring performance here to keep up with Boston, something that they’re capable of anytime Steph Curry laces up, but even that may not be enough.
The Warriors are 28th in defensive efficiency this season and allow opponents to shoot 40.9% from three on the road, the second-worst rate in the league. That’s bad news here against Boston, who ranks second in the league with 15.6 3-pointers made per game.
This is a statement game for Boston, and I like them to win comfortably.
Risk: 1.1 units on FanDuel to win 1 unit. (Playable to -115)
