Ja Morant OVER 16.5 Rebounds & Assists (-104)
Ja is struggling a lot offensively as the Timberwolves are able to lock up the paint and he is yet to make a mid-range jumper in this series. Only 3 3PTM in 4 games also, so he is trying to help his team win in other ways. In G3 he had the first playoff triple-double in Memphis history and also has 19, 20, and 23 RA in the L3 games. Minnesota is 23th in rebounds allowed and 27th in assists allowed. In my opinion, Ja is a very underrated passer and is surrounded by shooters most of the time, especially since Bane is on fire. Without Steven Adams in the rotation, that opens a few additional rebounds to grab and he has the heart and the hustle to get some of them instead of the bigger guys. Another triple-double may well be worth a sprinkle.
Deandre Ayton OVER 20.5 Points (-115)
Another one that may look like a recency bias, but for me, 2-3 games in the playoff atmosphere against the same opponent are well more analytic worthy than even 50 regular season games. Ayton had 21 in G1 and in G2 Booker went down. That changed everything. Now Ayton looks like their biggest scoring threat and scored 28 and 23 in the last two games with almost no scoring involvement in the 4th quarters. I believe this will be a tight game and they will need him until the end. Valanciunas had a great G4 himself after the struggles before that, but he still wasn’t able to stop Ayton. CP3 produced a really bad performance and he will look to bounce back and he loves to get others involved and take over the game in the end. Ayton will need to be very aggressive and his jump shot also looks good so I believe he will cover tonight.
Trae Young UNDER 37.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists (-116)
Trae is an amazing player, but that Miami defense can make it tough for anybody and they certainly did with him this series. I really believe the Heat took the hearts of Hawks and Young and they themselves don’t believe they have a chance to advance. Atlanta was down at least 14 in all 4 games, they came back in one of them, but looked gassed in G4. Trae doesn’t look like himself and has covered in only one game – their win and head 38PRA with the game-winner. So he almost didn’t cover in their win. Has scored 8, 25, 24, and 9, and his assists are way down. He had only 5 on 8 potential assists in G4. Also his comments postgame sounded like someone who gave up. Trae said that this is the first time since High school is guarded like that. For me, this game looks like a blowout and he may want to go out in style, but I don’t think he will be able to do it.
