Nikola Jokic OVER 40.5 POINTS & REBOUNDS -122
To tail the centers against the Hornets is a profitable strategy all year. Jokic isn’t your average center, and I expect him to eat big vs Plumlee. He had 29 points and 21 rebounds in their only meeting vs. the Hornets. The line is almost where his average is – 39.8PR for the season and now he has the best possible matchup. And there are rumors Campazzo may return tonight, which he can only help the Joker. Charlotte is 27th in points allowed, 29th in rebounds allowed, and 28th in overall center defense. I am taking the combo because he can go crazy on the boards or scoring, and this will be enough.
Zach LaVine OVER 23.5 POINTS -116
I was torn between Zach and DeRozan today with their lines exactly the same. DeRozan has a higher average for the season but has slowed down lately. So LaVine is averaging 24.8ppg for the year and 26.2 in the L10. Has gone over in 61% of all his games and two out of three against the Knicks, who are 20th in 3PT allowed and pretty average in SG defense, but with a +3.5 spread I think they will keep it close enough and for this line, Zach needs one hot stretch, which he is very capable of and will be in a great position to cover.
Fred VanVleet OVER 2.5 3PTM -125
I don’t love going with guys who are cold lately, but I am willing to take this risk with VanVleet. Boston has been insane on defense lately but is still 8th in 3PTM allowed and 10th in PG defense, which by no means is bad but doesn’t look as scary as their overall stats. Fred VanVleet is averaging 3.8 3-pointers for the season, despite his struggles lately. Also 3.7 per game against the Celtics in their 3 meetings this season. Looks like this will also be a close game and Fred leads the league in minutes per game with almost 38. Also, if he goes near his season average of 10 3PT attempts, he will almost surely cover.
