The 2021-22 NBA season is closing in on its first full week of play as many teams already have four games under their belt as November approaches. While it’s much too early to draw season-long conclusions, team’s identities are starting to form as value has already emerged across the league.
Let’s take a closer look at tonight’s slate.

1. Wizards +4.5 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
The post-Brad Stevens era is officially underway in Boston as Ime Udoka is starting to get his arms around what it’s like to guide one of the most powerful brands in sports. After an 0-2 start, the Celtics hit the road and got two in a row knocking off the Rockets on Sunday and the Hornets on Monday.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 71 on Monday and will need similar performances going forward to compete in an increasingly stacked East with limited talent around them.
For the Wizards, who are also welcoming in a first-year head coach in Wes Unseld Jr., a 2-0 start was followed up by at Brooklyn Monday, losing 90-104. While Bradley Beal was the leading scorer with 19, he went 8/22 on the night as no one else on the team could score more than 13.
In this one, I like for Beal to get is, as he averaged nearly 41 points against this Celtics team season, and for the Wiz to compete for this one outright.
2. Heat +4.5| -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
The Heat enter this one with the best point differential in the league through three games at +16 as they visit a Nets team still without star point guard Kyrie Irving. While Irving’s status going forward remains unknown, the Nets have seen mixed results without him going 2-2 through four games.
Miami enters this game averaging just 95.7 points allowed per game and 39% shooting, both #2 in the league.
With Bam Adebayo back fully healthy and Butler already going off to start the season averaging 25 points on 53% shooting, I like for the Heat to pick this one up in Brooklyn tonight outright.
3. Hawks -6 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
In what will be the first of a back-to-back tonight for the Hawks, they head to New Orleans to play a Pelicans team already treading water through four games. After an 0-3 start, the Pelicans picked up their first win of the season on Monday, a 108-98 win over the Timberwolves.
The Hawks have started the season 2-1, with their only loss coming on the road at Cleveland, a 95-101 loss. In this one, I like for the Hawks to pull away late with the return of forward De’Andre Hunter from illness who should be able to take advantage of the Zion Williamson-less Pelicans.
