With just a few days remaining in 2021, the NBA regular season roars on despite COVID protocols touching nearly every team in the league. Let’s look at the Wednesday night board and see where we can find value.

1. Knicks -6 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
The Knicks continue to claw their way back to the .500 mark with the resurgence of Kemba Walker who is getting a much-needed second chance of playing time after head coach Tom Thibadeau made the switch away from Alec Burks. Winning three of their last four, the Knicks are getting it done on both ends but especially on defense, as they’ve allowed their opponent less than 91 points in each of their three wins.
For the home Pistons, things continue to get worse as they’ve now lost nine of their last 10 including their last three straight. Most recently, they gave up 144 points on the road to the Spurs on Sunday night, shooting poorly again as the league’s worst team from the field shooting just 41.4%.
Sitting just inside the last play-in game spot, look for a motivated Knicks team for the next few weeks, at least.
2. Hornets +3 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
One of the hottest teams in the league in the month of November, the Hornets have stumbled a bit through the month of December. However, a closer look shows not only a rash of COVID-related outages, but a tougher schedule that included trips to Phoenix, Utah, and Denver.
The road back to .500 has been a difficult one for the Pacers, as they’ve lost four of six heading into tonight, and now might be without Malcolm Brogdon and Jeremy Lamb who are both listed as questionable. I expect the Hornets to take advantage and roll in this one.
3. Grizzlies -6 | -115 at DraftKings Sportsbook
Fresh off of a game-winner that gave the Grizzlies their second straight win following a three-game slide, Ja Morant is officially back. His official return from a knee injury coincided with a short slide for the Grizz, but one of the better offensive teams in the league is now back on track.
For the Lakers, a lack of defensive presence continues to plague them, as they are now averaging 112.6 points allowed per game to rank among the worst in the league. Following a 132-point performance last night, look for the Lakers to regress in this one.
