Top 3 NBA Betting Picks for Thursday, March 10th (2022)

Following packed Wednesday night in the NBA, just two games are on the docket for tonight in TNT’s weekly Thursday spot. All eyes will be on game #1, as Ben Simmons will be on the bench in Philadelphia as the Nets visit town. In game #2, the Warriors visit the Nuggets as the race for the 2nd seed starts to heat up.

Let’s take a closer look.

1. Nets +4.5 -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook

The James Harden and Paul Millsap for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, and Andre Drummond trade was the biggest of this season’s deadline and will be at center stage tonight as the two teams meet. For the Nets, in one of their first truly full-strength games of the season Tuesday, Kyrie Irving went for 50 as they snapped a four-game slide, winning 132-121 at Charlotte.

For the home 76ers tonight, they are 5-0 in games Harden has been available, as tonight will be their best measuring stick yet against a full-strength Nets team. I like for Irving and Kevin Durant to do enough late to keep this one close in a matchup we could very well see again come the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

2. Nets-76ers Over 234 |  -115 at DraftKings Sportsbook

This one opened at 230 and could still very well be on the move ahead of the opening tip tonight in Philly. The acquisition of Harden has really opened things up for this 76ers team, who, over the course of his five games on the floor, has carried this team to 125.4 points per game.

For the Nets, it has been three games since Durant returned from injury, and points have also not been a concern. Averaging 119.7 over their last three, I expect the offense to open up even more as they work Curry and Drummond more into their rotations.

 3. Clippers -2.5 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Coming into this game barely over .500 since the start of 2022, the Warriors have watched their once close distance between themselves and the Suns all but evaporate (currently 9 games back). Having lost all three games so far this season vs. the Nuggets, the Warriors should like their chances tonight as they rested their stars home in their first trip to Denver earlier this week, a 131-124 loss.

Beating the Clippers at home on Tuesday 112-97, the Warriors now draw a Kings team on the second of a back to back, having just played on the road at Sacramento last night (106-100 win). In what will be their fourth game in five nights, I like for the tired legs to catch up with the Nuggets in this one.
