NBA Player Props & Picks
Luka Doncic, Over 31.5 (-122)
Mavericks vs. Nets | Mavericks -2.5 |
Time | TV | 7:30 p.m. ET | NBATV |
Best Book | BetRivers |
Luka Doncic has come into the new season firing on all cylinders. Why could this be? Possibly because Luka spent the late summer playing overseas in EuroBasket and came into shape this season. Or he’s a man on a mission.
Regardless, Doncic is averaging 34.7 points per game while shooting 50% from the field and averaging 25.3 attempts per game this season. (Yes, 25 attempts per game!)
He has played at least 30 minutes in each of the three games so far this season. Despite not shooting well from beyond the arc, Luka’s skill, and ability to get to the basket allows him to rake in the points. Tonight, the Dallas Mavericks travel to Brooklyn to take on of the worst defenses in the league.
According to NBA Advanced Stats, the Nets’ defensive rating (119.8) ranks second-worst in the entire league. Furthermore, the Nets’ interior defense is allowing an average of 53.5 points inside the paint. I do not believe the Nets possess the size and strength to stay in front of Doncic; he should be able to do whatever he wants from the floor.
Desmond Bane, Over 3.5 3-Pointers (-125)
Grizzlies vs. Kings | Grizzlies -3 |
Time | TV | 10 p.m. ET | NBA League Pass |
Best Book | DraftKings |
The Memphis Grizzlies head to Sacramento the take on the Kings tonight. I am highlighting Desmond Bane as a player to have a big night from beyond the arc. First, the Grizzlies thru their first four games of the season are attempting close to 40 3-pointers per game, which ranks fourth in the entire league.
According to NBA Advanced Stats, the Kings are allowing their opponents to shoot 41% from beyond the arc, which ranks fourth-worst in the league. Desmond Bane is the second scoring option for this team and the numbers are telling the story. Bane is averaging 20.5 points per game but more importantly, he is shooting 41% from the 3-point line.
Despite only knocking down four or more 3s in one game so far, Bane has not been shy about getting the attempts. Bane is averaging 9.8 attempts per game from beyond the arc and there will be not shortage of attempts in this matchup against the Kings.
