Suns vs. Clippers Odds & Picks: The Phoenix Sun Will Shine In LA

After the Clippers pulled off an impressive Game 1 win behind Kawhi Leonard’s 38 points in Phoenix, the Suns evened the series with a convincing 14-point win in Game 2.

Devin Booker’s 38 points in Game 2 reminded us just how dynamic this Suns offense is after Kevin Durant led the team with a 27-point double-double where he fell one rebound short of a triple-double. This has also illustrated the Clippers’ inability to really slow down more than one of the primary weapons on Phoenix and despite the win in Game 1, this is going to continue to cause issues for them defensively.

How will this shake out in Game 3? That remains to be seen, but there are a lot of reasons for optimism for Suns backers.

SUNS VS. CLIPPERS BEST BETS

Suns -3.5 (-114, FanDuel)

As alluded to above, this Suns’ offense is spectacular. Three players topped 20 points in Game 1, including Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Torrey Craig. This doesn’t even account for the 18 that Deandre Ayton poured in.

Game 2 was much of the same, as we got 38 points out of Booker, 25 out of Durant, and an additional 17 from Craig and 14 from Ayton. An offense with four weapons scoring at will and then Chris Paul? Good luck containing that.

Kawhi Leonard and Russell Westbrook will need to continue playing their best basketball, as they were the only two players above 12 points last game. It’s also worth noting that Westbrook shot 3-19 in Game 1, with Leonard being the one consistent offensive piece on the team.

There’s simply too much star power in favor of Phoenix to allow me to trust the Clippers here, as I fully expect the Suns to blow this series open starting tonight.

Risk: 1.14 units on FanDuel to win 1 unit.
